We did well overnight. But then at sunrise all the wind just vanished. So we have been motoring since 8am. Our new friend Bill, from Colorado, wanted to know why we are so quick to motor on this trip? Our answer: Our rule on 'Piper' is if we are making under 2.5 knots, then we motor. We just aren't making any progress at less than that, and it gives us a chance to charge batteries and make some water.
We are on a bit of a schedule this trip as well. The middle of March is coming up and that is usually when the swells change direction. Also, we want to start making our trek up the Red Sea in April since that is the best time because of less northerly winds. We are also hoping to make it to Turkey early May, find a marina, and plan a quick trip to Italy to see Tom's Mom and Aunts'.
The fringe is getting empty. No luck fishing. Hope we make it soon.
One Love
Amy and Tom
