Hey all. I've finally gained my sea legs and am able to contribute to the updates.

While recording our noon fix today we calculated we covered 80 nautical miles in the last 24 hours. When we went back and looked through our log and discovered that this is, officially, our WORST day thus far in the 2+ years out here.

The good news is that since noon the wind has picked up a bit and we are moving at an average of 5 knots. Ya!!!! What a difference those few knots of wind makes. It makes the boat more stable. And the sails are fuller, which makes us move.

I was getting a little anxious seeing that it is our 5th day out here and we weren't making much for trax. Originally we were hoping for an arrival in 10 days. Well, that is not going to happen. But it is nice to be out here and sailing.

All is well here on 'Piper. Hope all is well back home.

One Love,
Amy and Tom

PS: We never heard the score to the Super Bowl Game... anyone?
